Wii U Selling At a Loss

Wii U Selling At a Loss

Nintendo has annouced that it’s to sell the Wii U at a loss as the company cuts back on its forecasted profit and sales figure for the year. The company has blamed stiff competition from smartphones and tablets as the cause of the loss.

Its forcasted annual sales for the 3DS console has been downgraded to 17.5 million units, 5.4 percent lower while 3DS games sales is expected to drop by 4.1 percent with the Wii U selling at a loss.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft (the three top video-game console makers) are all facing increasing competition from the availability of  free titles on smartphones and tablets which appears to disuade consumers from buying new gaming devices.
